Constitutional Court Montenegro

The Constitutional Court of Montenegro, as the guardian of constitutional democracy, is an exceptional, subsidiary power that makes decisions in situations when other authorities do not resolve disputes in accordance with the constitutional principles. The Constitution adopted and promulgated on 22 October2007, in the autonomous and independent state of Montenegro, established the Constitutional Court as a special body separate from other authorities, which protects the constitutionality and legality, constitutional order and human rights and freedoms guaranteed by the Constitution. The Judge of the Constitutional Court shall be elected for the period of 12 years.
